Adverbs derived from Adjectives

 

Adjectives can become adverbs to express the manner something is done/happens. Doing it is quite simple: just add the suffix '-ly' to the Adjective as the examples below:

 

Observe the suffixes that are added according to the termination of the adjective

Easily You can easily learn or do anything you want as long as you really want it

Extreme

Extremely In New York, it gets extremely cold in winter and thereīs a lot of snow

Full

Fully This situation is fully understood; thereīs no need to say anything else

Gentle

Gently The old lady has treated us so gently that we just donīt feel like leaving

High

Highly Itīs highly recommended that you use the seat belt while driving

New

Newly That old building was newly reformed and now it looks nice

Quick

Quickly The stock markets change so quickly that people lose or gain fortunes overnight

Rough

Roughly The animals moved so roughly that they almost ran over each other

Serious

Strong
