Verb Conjugation: Past Continuous
- Interrogative (click on the
verb to download/listen)
Past Continuous Interrogative is used to ask
questions about things that were interrupted at the moment or actions that took
place before another action known by the person who is asking the question.
Remembering that, even if not mentioned in the clause, the actions in this tense
are interrupted by something else (they are unfinished actions)
Examples:
Singular:
Was I dreaming
or was it just my imagination?
Were you
passing in front of my house yesterday when I was going out with my father?
Was he watching
the game yesterday when you arrived at his house?
Was she cooking
dinner last night when she burned the house?
Was it raining
in the morning when you woke up?
Plural:
Were we being
too severe when we said that you had to stay home?
