Verb Conjugation Present Continuous/Progressive - Affirmative (click on the verb to download/listen)

 

The Present Continuous (or Progressive) is used to describe actions happening in the present moment, progressive actions or near future.

The structure is very simple: verb "To Be" Simple Present + main verb + -ing, example: I am teaching English. Quite easy, huh?

 

Examples

Singular:

I am calling her

You are writing a long letter

He is parking his red car

She is kissing her beautiful baby

It is burying its bone

 

Plural:

We are learning the English language

You are listening to the English lesson

They are going home

The verbs "Can", "Must" and "May" have no conjugation in the Present Continuous. They are not continuous verbs.
