Verb Tense: Simple Past Affirmative (click on the verb to download/listen)

 

All the tenses that you have seen so far are pretty much easier than the Simple Past. Things start to get a little harder now, but it is not so difficult. You just have to do your best.

 

The verbs are Regular or Irregular and it makes all the difference when doing the simple past (they change).  The rules are:

 

Regular verbs: add the suffix "-ed" to the verb

Irregular verbs: use your memory and study hard!!

 

Letīs start with the verbs we have been studying and some new verbs to replace the irregulars that have been taken out. See some examples below:

She called her mother yesterday to tell her (to her mother) she is fine

It opened its big eyes and started to run
